"Sir" Nazri...

Assalamu'alaikum! Alhamdulillah that I was born a Muslim.

It's the second week of the new diploma semester and classes have just begun. Every semester, I remind my students NOT to call me Sir Nazri. 'Sir', if placed in front of a name, it becomes a title.

Sir Lancelot was no one's English teacher.
One will only get this title if one has been 'Knighted' by the Queen of England. Like Sir Elton John, or Sir Alex Ferguson, or Sir Lancelot.

Instead, call me; Mister NazriSo I tell my students. Or Just Sir. Apparently, some students didn't understand, and just called me Mister. Which in the US would refer to a male stranger. Each time they accidentally called me "Sir", they'd be scared I might slice their heads off and immediately shout "I mean Mister!"

So I'd feel like stranger in class.

"Mister, I don't understand. Could you repeat again?"
"Mister! Mister! Do we have class today, Mister??"

So remember students, it's either Mister Nazri or just Sir. And NEVER Sir Nazri.

Position During Tahiyyat Akhir...

Assalamu'alaikum! Bismillahirrahmaniraheem..

I don't talk about Islamic practices so much here because I'm afraid of saying the wrong things because every word we say will be asked by Allah SWT. However, after thorough research, such a mistake can be overcomed.

The issue that I'd like to highlight here is regarding our position when we perform Solat, specifically during tahiyat akhir. Sometimes a saf (row) can get really packed with people standing so close together, it gets uncomfortable. In my experience, realizing that there are so many people in one saf, if begin to think what will happen in the last rakaat during the tahiyat akhir. I worry because I'm such a small person and I often get sat on, or squeezed by the person beside me, usually the person on my right. This is because in Malaysia, follow Imam Shafie, we still in a rather broad position during tahiyat akhir. And some people, despite realizing that there is not enough room for that position, they try to force themselves into it. In the end, people like me get pushed into a very uncomfortable position that even causes injury.

But why does this happen? Why would people cause others discomfort during solat? One reason may be due to the misunderstanding that it is a must to get into that position no matter what. Based on my readings, and listening to comments by UAI, it is actually not a must. Take some time to watch the video below.

Therefore, it is alright to be in tahiyat awal (iftirash) position for tahiyat akhir.. If there isn't enough room, you shouldn't force yourself into tahiyat akhir (tawaruk) position during tahiyat akhir because it can cause discomfort to the person beside you or even pain.

No Ford, No Post?...

Assalamu'alaikum! Alhamdulillah for this free iPad that I'm using.

There hasnt been any post since I havent found anything new on Ford. I dont like getting personal on this blog because its gonna come back and haunt me.

I like talking about Ford and its latest news. It also serves as my own documentation of what Ford has been doing in the past up to now. So if there isn't any news, there basically no post from me.

So just for fun, I just want to share some pictures I've found of the new Ford Mondeo or Fusion (USA) from Facebook.

Photography: Light Painting...

Assalamu'alaikum! Alhamdulillah I am grateful to be born a Muslim.

I'm currently learning to be somewhat of a photographer. But unfortunately I'm learning on my own. I haven't attended any courses on photography, so my development is very slow. Despite the setback, I've managed to learn a couple of tricks.

Cars: Ford Fiesta Sedan Facelift 2013!

Assalamu'alaikum! Alhamdulillah for clean water everyday.

Ever since Ford released pictures of the facelift version of the Fiesta, I've been eagerly waiting for the pictures of the sedan version.

Picture from Car Scoop.
The internet had only shown spy-pics of the mule test car that Ford's been testing around Europe, but the official pictures were never released. Until Now!

My car: Good Ol Ford...

Assalamu'alaikum! Alhamdulillah for such a comfortable and serene home.

When I have nothing else to do on the internet, I like to look for pictures of other people's Ford Laser on websites like Car Domain or just Flickr
Ford Laser TX3 in Australia from CarDomain.com.
I find it very interesting to see how other people take care of their good Ol' Fords. That's right, I like see other people's old cars, not new one.

From decypher the code, Flickr.
Maintaining an old car is much more fun than just having a brand new car (in denial), especially when the cars still look brand new. Not surprisingly, there many people out there who have the same perception.

Ohh yeah, my Ol Ford is shiny.

New Cars are always nice. But it's rare to see a very nice old car in Malaysia, that once you see one that's in really good condition, you that nostalgic feeling like the car just got out of the showroom and that's what I've been trying to achieve with my Ol' Ford Laser.

Uh-huh, shiny cause I just washed it.

Smack that.. Wiper..

Life: Perception of Jengka...

Assalamu'alaikum!

While I was going through Flickr to find photos of other Ford Lasers, I stumbled upon this.

Then I realized, when I tell my friends that I live in Jengka, this is the image they get in their heads.
